Recusal policy for review of applications

JMH Family Fund board members must recuse themselves from review, evaluation, scoring, and any discussion of applicants from their direct descendants, siblings, spouses, or domestic partners. In addition, all JMH Family Fund board members are required to indicate if there are applications for which they cannot review without bias. If this occurs, the JMH Family Fund board member will recuse themselves from review of the application in question.

Each application will be reviewed by at least three JMH Family Fund board members; in the case that three JMH Family Fund board members are not available to review the application due to the recusal policy set forth above, members of the auxiliary application review committee (randomly selected for each review cycle) will be asked to review said application. The auxiliary review committee is made up entirely of individuals with no familial ties to any of the JMH Family Fund board members.
